SCENES
Gilwell Ada's Hoeve is niet alleen het eerste Gilwell terrein in Nederland, maar sinds 2015 is het ook het eerste SCENES terrein in Nederland.

Mahama Ibn Halid, from the city of Tamale in Ghana, is 30 years old. He got the opportunity to be part of an exchange programme between the Netherlands and Ghana, so he volunteered immediately. He wanted to visit Europe for many years; a dream come true!
Last year, Ibn met two Dutch Scouts –Simone van Eijk and Jorien Homan– in Ghana. As a real host, Ibn showed them around to see more of Ghana and Ibn also invited them to his own place. They visited many local Scouting groups and spent time in several national parks. During this week Ibn found out that they were looking for Ghanaian Scouts, Scouts that wanted to visit the Netherlands for a couple of weeks as part of the Partnership Nederland-Ghana. He found this very interesting and wanted to volunteer himself! And he did. Luckily Ibn already had a passport, which made it easier to take part. Unfortunately, his companion was not able to join him at the last moment due to paperwork.
Scouting groups staying at Gilwell Ada's Hoeve this summer will get a whopping 50% group discount on the ticket price of outdoor pool Olde Vechte in Ommen. With this discount your group can gome and swim for only 2,- a person! Outdoor pool Olde Vechte is within walking distance of Gilwell Ada's Hoeve. A refreshing dive, cover some distance, go off the slide or relax on the grass? Outdoor pool Olde Vechte is the place to be!
Your leader can get a group discount coupon at the reception of Gilwell Ada's Hoeve and it is valid until August 30th, 2015. Reservations are not necessary.
The 11th TED Pathfinder Camporee will take place in the Netherlands, at Gilwell Ada's Hoeve from 29 July until 5 August 2014. This event has been organised by AJV Scouting. Scouts from about 16 European countries will attend this international event in Ommen.
