Branding a scarf ring
Under the guidance of our camp staff you can use an electric branding iron to stamp the Ada’s Hoeve logo into materials such as leather or soft wood. We also have several traditional iron stamps, including of course the Flame of Friendship — the symbol of Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve. Bring your own wooden disc or piece of leather, or create a personal scarf ring (woggle) using the ones available in our Scout Shop. Please note: branding is only possible by appointment.

Campfire
The campfire pit at Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve can seat around five hundred people — and with a little squeezing, even six hundred! A campfire is fun, but it’s best enjoyed with lots of Scouts together. During the Saturday evening briefing in the summer months we ask about interest in holding a joint campfire on the Wednesday night. If there’s enough enthusiasm, a campfire will be organised. Campers then coordinate among themselves who takes care of what. Scouts camping at the Scouting Label Site Eerde are also very welcome to join.

Kubb
Kubb is a popular Scandinavian outdoor game. It began in the days when people often had piles of firewood lying around the yard. A few suitable pieces of wood were selected — and just like that, the game of Kubb was born!

Archery
Ever tried shooting with a real competition bow? This is your chance! In a group of up to 12 people you’ll receive one hour of instruction from our camp staff, and you’ll even take part in a friendly match with your group. This activity is open to Scouts age and older (11+). You can make an appointment for this activity with the camp staff.
We have both right-handed and left-handed bows — available for adults as well as children!

Pioneering
Want to build a kitchen, climbing frame, or seesaw? Anything’s possible with the pioneering wood available at Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve—free to use for all campers. Just bring your own pioneering rope. Need extra? Sisal rope is available for purchase in our Scoutshop.

Activities on Jongensveld
During the summer months, at the leaders’ meeting on Saturday evening, we ask about interest in a joint activity for the Monday evening. If there’s enough enthusiasm, the camp staff and campers together organise a fun activity on Jongensveld. It’s the perfect chance to meet other campers at Ada’s Hoeve during your camp!

Earth Tribe – Champions for Nature
Join the Earth Tribe and take action together for our planet through the Champions for Nature programme. You’ll reflect on your own impact on nature and the environment, learn about the nature at Ada’s Hoeve, and come up with actions that make a positive difference. With a special badge you can show that you’re part of the Earth Tribe.

Go Goals
Welcome to the “GO GOALS!” board game. The aim of this game is to help children understand what the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are, how they affect their lives, and what they can do every day to help achieve the 17 goals by 2030.

The Search-and-Find Game
How good are you at separating waste into paper, glass, plastic and residual waste?
You can play this game with your own group or with several groups in teams of 2 or 3. On the campsite, 20 objects are hidden, each with a number.
Each team receives a card with the numbers 1 to 20 in a mixed order. After the starting signal, you search for the object that matches the first number on your list. Once found, you tell the game leader what it is, and then continue with the next number. Who will be the first to correctly identify all the objects in the right order to the game leader?
At the end of the game, all objects are collected and sorted into paper, glass, plastic and residual waste.

Sports and Games Equipment
At Gilwell Ada’s Hoeve we have special fields set aside for sports and games. One of them is Gulden Roede, which borders the river Vecht and is also perfect for water games. Another is Van Pallandt, the field by the totem pole — thanks to its central location it is ideal as a meeting place and for group activities.
